The 5CX Series Magnetic Separator is available in two models tailored to different capacity needs: the 5CX-5 and the 5CX-10. Both are designed to remove hard clods and soil from grains, seeds, and beans.
Constructed from stainless steel and equipped with an 18,000-gauss magnet, the 5CX Series ensures safe operation for personnel. In contrast, some manufacturers use ordinary carbon steel for the casing, which may pose operational risks.
This versatile machine is suitable for various grains and seeds, with current primary application being the separation of hard soil clumps from beans.
How does it work?
While conventional de-stoners can easily remove impurities like stones and sand, they struggle with soil clods due to their similar weight to seeds. The magnetic separator offers an innovative solution to this challenge.
It is widely known that soil contains about 5.8% iron, distributed throughout its composition. This iron content makes soil responsive to magnetic force, provided the magnet is sufficiently powerful.
Inside the magnetic separator, an ultra-strong magnetic roller drives a rotating belt. As the mixture of seeds and soil travels along the belt, seeds are discharged at the end in a natural parabolic trajectory. Meanwhile, soil clods—drawn by the magnetic roller—deviate from this path due to magnetic attraction. This difference in movement allows for effective separation of seeds from soil.
As a relatively new technology compared to traditional de-stoners, the magnetic separator is still unfamiliar to many customers. However, it tends to gain strong preference once demonstrated.
